You don’t even think about this, do you? Not when you’re bopping your head to the tunes, you don’t.
I know that most people don’t think about this when they’re sitting down to play the piano. They’re focused on making the keys go clinky clinky.
But understanding the very nature of sound and its vocabulary—frequency, vibration, waves, incus, malleus, vestibulocochlear nerve—will help you understand the magic that is music.
We teach this on Day 1 to every single student, because knowledge applied is power.
